OctuMom Strikes Again!
The story that just won’t go away. Famed attorney, Gloria Allred, is now in the mix. On behalf of a group known as Angels in Waiting, Allred has made an offer to OctuMom to provide ’round the clock care for all of the babies who will most assuredly need it when they come home from the hospital. That care would take the monkey off the backs of taxpayers. Supposedly, OctuMom was made the offer a week ago, but has not responded. It’s assumed that Allred held the impromptu press conference in order to pressure OctuMom into accepting. Makes sense to me.
And I’m sure you’re aware that OctuGrandma’s home is in foreclosure status. Ten months behind on payments. I can certainly understand that. Food comes before anything else. But still, you’ve got to have a roof over the heads of those babies.
And this is the SHOCKER!!!!
OctuMom was spotted checking out a 1.24 million dollar home. Does this mean she has made some sort of deal with someone? Hmmm…just as I suspected, this was all a play for money. On the one hand we could say she was just smarter than the average bear. But sorry, using children for fame and fortune is just plain damn disgusting.
Somebody is gonna get sued in all of this. Maybe the fertility doc is putting up the change. Or maybe the plastic surgeon who gave her Angelina Lips. tee hee
What say you?

The whole saga with OctuMom disgusts me. If you can’t afford to make your mortgage payments, how the heck can you afford to have 6 kids, let alone 8 more??? And she’s behind by 10 months… well, that would have to be before she was pregnant with the 8 so she was just banking on people feeling sorry for her and sending her money as a result. I think that the fertility doc should be sued. He never should have done it! But can’t there be some way to hold the mother accountable too? The whole idea that she is using her children to get money so she was looking at a 1.24 million dollar home is just sickening! Aargh, I can go on and on but I’m rambling so I’ll stop now!

This woman sickens me both literally and figuratively, but her family sickens me more. It’s apparent to me that she has some serious issues in the mental department and she’ll be lucky if in the end the DFS doesn’t step in and take her children from her as they should. Why is her family not trying to help her rather than supporting this insanity?
As far as the doctor who gave her fertility treatment–WTF? Seriously, when is it a bright idea to give fertility treatments to a woman who already has six kids that she can’t care for already. I hope they take this doctor, I use the word lightly, to court and take their medical license. Hell they deserve to do time. These poor babies did not ask to be born, but they deserve loving parents who treat them as more than cash cows and stepping stones to fame.

i find this entire ordeal completely and utterly shameful..
she should get down on her knees and thank god that Angels has stepped forward. and she is probably hesitating to hold out for a movie or book deal..
on one hand the government should not dictate who can have children and how many can be had. but if you cannot care for your children.. don’t have them.. let alone 14!

Nicolette,
I’m wondering why we aren’t seeing that doc on tv. I mean reporters have got to know who he is so why aren’t they after him? Seems like he has some explaining to do.
As for the house? Well, that’s OctuGrandma’s house. And it was just a week or so ago that Grandma had moved out, then suddenly back in. One day she was washing her hands of her daughter and the next was going to support her again. OctuGrandma seemed sympathetic for a while there. But now that there are hints of that million dollar home, and OctuGrandma is suddenly back in the fold, she’s getting a whole lot less sympathy from me!

Mary,
I so agree that the government can’t dictate who can have children and how many. But I do believe that this is an extreme case. This, in my opinion, is child endangerment. You have to be able to cope with fourteen children in order to keep them safe. And what I mean by cope is to be able to physically, financially, and emotionally care for them. OctuMom definitely has some sort of mental problem. At the very least this was a cold calculated plan to rip off the government, good Samaritans, and hopefully garner fame and fortune from the birth of these children. The other alternative is that she is truly unbalanced. Either way, those children are not in safe hands. Her conduct in this matter is unforgivable.

Jesse,
I keep wondering if medicaid paid for those fertility treatments. The first six children were getting food stamp benefits, which means they were also receiving medicaid. It also means that Mom was receiving medicaid coverage as well. Fertility treatments cost a lot of money. Where did OctuMom get that money. Yes, she was drawing disability for four years to the tune of a total of approximately $165,000, but that’s not a whole lot of money spread out over that amount of time. Especially when you have six children to feed and clothe. I’m wondering if that doc somehow cooked the books to do the procedure and bill medicaid. Or is it possible a third party is involved here that gave her the money to do the implants? Something isn’t right here. I am surprised no one has figured out the identity of the dad and truly tracked down more info on this woman. By now they would usually know all her friends back to first grade. It’s like a train wreck I can’t stop watching. Just waiting for her to get nailed with it all…and her accomplices.

I can’t understand why the public aid system will support something like this. In my 20s Ihad two miscarriages, was married and had no insurance. The pregancies were unplanned, but I could not get any help to pay for medical bills. This was because I did not carry full term. I wonder if that doc would have given me a frebee if I came to him with that story. I guess I can’t work the system like some people.
I think each of those children deserve a fighting chance. In this situation I feel it impossible or at least unlikely. I think we need to pray for those little ones and pray mom gets the mental and emotional help she needs.

Hi Kim,
I so agree with you. The rules of financial aid are truly screwed up. So many times, those who need it just can’t get it. As far as her getting any help she needs to fix the obvious mental/emotional problems she has, it looks like that’s not going to happen. The media is just going to keep dragging her out and she is obviously feeding off the attention. And it only worsens. I need to update my blog on the situation. I honestly haven’t even watched the weird fight interview between she and her mom.

The Octumom is only the logical progression of American women who get pregnant to support themselves. A father is not necessary or wanted-(She used a sperm donor). We have become a culture that enables this type of behavior. Whether through child support, government assistance, or Dr. Phil. These women know that no one will take their children away, and someone will pay for them. It is a personal financial security issue that has little, if anything to do with the love of children. It is about me, me, me. If you don’t think so, listen to her 9-1-1 call after she misplaced her son.
